...But we're hoping for a Delta breeze. ;-)
But seriously, you won't want to miss our next big show this Saturday 7/12 from 6 to 10pm. It's our great outdoor show (and bottled water for $1) plus playfully surreal artwork from two up-and-coming younger artists and a preview of August's upcoming Next Gen Film Festival. Not to be missed!

To celebrate Sacramento's GLBT community and Pride Month (Sacramento Pride is the following weekend, June 21st), we're hosting several gay and lesbian artists in addition to our regular crowd of groovy artists and craftspeople.Prominent local artist Michael Misha Kennedy is featured in our inside space and will be showing his newest works. The Kennedy Gallery recently debuted across the street at the Sacramento Art Complex, so check out his works here and at his new nearby space on June 14th.
We'll also have more than two dozen artists outdoors 6-10pm this Saturday, so bring out the whole family and enjoy the local art scene and our FREE event.

I just got off the phone with James Cooper of SEEART (Sacramento Educational Events for Art) and he's confirmed that both the Legacy Trees Project and the Midtown Murals Project look forward to being a part of Park Your Art @ McMartin Realty for Green Second Saturday!
SEEART has been doing great things for Midtown in the form of the Midtown Murals Project for several years with creations like the mural at 15th & J on a building owned by Jim Tanovitz of Art Ellis Supply, the wrap-around corner mural on Uptown Market at 17th & Capitol, and the mosaic mural on OfficeMax at 17th & J.

Now SEEART has partnered with Councilmember Steve Cohn's office and the State Department of General Services (DGS) to acquire a historic (or "legacy") tree from the State Capitol grounds to be used as part of their arts education initiative and to create new art.

SEEART is joining us to share what they're doing with the rest of Sacramento and to promote their upcoming project launch party fundraiser on May 3rd at the Art Foundry at 10th & R. For more information about SEEART, the Legacy Trees Project, or Midtown Murals, visit http://www.seeart.org.

PARK YOUR ART & Green Second Saturday @ McMartin Realty
April 12th, 2008 6-11pm 21st & K in Midtown Sacramento
Our March event was rockin', but April is gonna be huuuuge! So huge, in fact, that we're staying late—festivities start at 6pm and go until 11pm!
The Smith Gallery will be joining us again with great artwork from prominent local artists, plus we'll have a guitar performance from Stephen 9ine 6-7:30pm, amazing firedancers at 7:45pm, the Richard March Band goes on 8-11pm, and as always we'll have our popular outdoor art show with dozens of great local artists and crafspeople—giving you a chance to own their one-of-a-kind, handmade works!

This is our big fundraiser for ECOS, the Environmental Council of Sacramento (last month was just a fun bake sale), so join us as we celebrate a green Sacramento! This event is to promote Sacramento Earth Day and awareness of local environmental efforts. Come check out alternative energy vehicles, too!
This event is FREE to attend and is open to art-lovers of all ages. If you'd like to put your art or crafts on display for FREE, download an artist application or for more info call McMartin Realty at (916) 447-1600.

Wow, what a phenomenal event! We had more than a thousand artwalkers come through Park Your Art at McMartin Realty and raised money for ECOS. Thanks to everyone who helped make it a huge success, and we'll see you for our next big event: Green Second Saturday on April 12th!

People we'd like to thank: Larisa Bryski and Willy Seltzer, for donating their time and talent; Chad Tibbs, for helping with setup and teardown all weekend; Fred Schatz, for providing extra lighting and extension cords; Marcy Boyd and Jim Barnhart, for volunteering with ECOS; Jason LeBrun, for using his snazzy Palm Centro to photograph and live-blog the event; and Thomas Roth, for helping us get the Smith Gallery team out to the event.
